This Australian Boulder Opal has a rough cut that shows the natural contours of the stone; the front is not polished into a completely smooth cabochon. In order to highlight the stone's natural beauty, it has been set in an open setting with a sterling silver base and 14k gold-fill prongs. The bail is sterling silver with a high-polish brass moon accent on it.
The stone itself has a dark brown color with veins of bright purple-blue opal running through it.
Pendant hangs on a 22in black genuine leather cord. Closure is a sterling silver lobster clasp.
